Bus from Tivat Airport to Budva: timetable, fare, where the stop is and when a taxi is better (2026)

Tivat Airport sits right by the highway but has no stop of its own. Leaving the terminal, turn right and follow the access road to the highway — the Aerodrom stop for buses towards Budva (eastbound) is 1.2–1.5 km away; crossing the road with a suitcase is awkward and there is no traffic light. In summer heat that is 20–25 minutes.

The alternative is Tivat bus station (Autobuska stanica Tivat) in the town centre: 3 km from the terminal, €5–7 by taxi, 5 minutes. It has a departure board, a ticket office, toilets and every service to Budva, Kotor and Herceg Novi. For most passengers this is the sensible compromise: €6 taxi + €4 bus against a €60 taxi to Budva.

The local Blue Line minibuses run Tivat–Budva every 30 minutes in summer and hourly in winter, roughly 06:00–22:00; they stop on request along the highway, including at Jaz and Slovenska plaža. Intercity buses (Herceg Novi–Budva–Bar and beyond) pass through Tivat bus station every 30–60 minutes and run to Budva bus station without beach stops.

Exact times are on busticket4.me and the station board; in summer buses often run 10–20 minutes late because of traffic near Budva. The last departure towards Budva is usually around 22:00, earlier off-season.

A Blue Line ticket is €3–4 in cash to the driver; an intercity ticket from the station €4–4.50 at the counter (plus a €1 station fee when bought there). A driver may ask €1 for a large suitcase. No cards — cash in euros, small notes preferred.

Intercity buses — at Budva bus station (Autobuska stanica), 1.5 km from the Old Town: 15–20 minutes downhill on foot or €3–5 by taxi. On the Blue Line you can ask to stop at Slovenska plaža or TQ Plaza — closer to the seafront hotels. The Blue Line from Tivat does not continue to Bečići or Rafailovići — change in Budva to another Blue Line (€1.50) or take a €5–9 taxi.

Night arrival: nothing runs after 22:00; only taxis at the terminal (€70–80 to Budva at night). Children and heavy luggage: 1.5 km on the road shoulder and a change in Budva eat the saving. A hotel not in Budva but in Bečići, Rafailovići or Sveti Stefan: bus + bus + walk is 2 hours; a taxi from the airport is €55–80. Rain, or heat above 35°C: the stop has no shelter.

The compromise for every case: a request through Budva Taxi App with your flight number before you fly — the tariff estimate is visible in advance, the driver confirms the price, meets you at the exit, cash with no commission. Or a taxi to Tivat bus station (€5–7) and the bus from there.

From Budva bus station take any bus to Tivat, Kotor or Herceg Novi and ask for “aerodrom”: you are dropped on the highway at the airport turn, 1.2 km on foot to the terminal (10–15 minutes). Allow 1.5 hours for the journey plus check-in; for a flight before 08:00 the first bus (around 06:00) may not make it — a €50–70 taxi or a request the evening before.
